Chakra 2- Svadhisthana


Chakra 2 is found in front of the spine in the lower abdomen. It's represented by the colour orange and a six petal lotus flower. The sense of taste is associated with this chakra. Think of wonderful sweet tastes like chocolate or maple syrup.

Chakra 2 governs desire, feelings and relationships. Healing and balance for this chakra are finding out who we are, rejuvenation of our spirit and emotional health in general.

Yoga poses for this chakra are centered around the belly, below the navel. Poses like Cat and Downward Facing Dog , see saw forward bends done with a partner and Baddha Konasana. A good pranayama practice for Chakra 2 would be Kapalabahti breathing (Breath of Fire) as well as Belly (abdominal) Breathing.

Activities to help balance Chakra 2 are expressing our emotions, spending quality time with friends or enjoying family conversation at dinner.
